Route description
From Aurum Resort, head downhill towards Čistá, where you join the marked path in Mirror Valley. In this section, you can avoid part of the main road by following the side path marked Pěšník. A short stretch then continues along a local road.
The bridge on your left leads into Mirror Valley. From there, a pleasant path takes you around the fallow deer enclosure, this time from the opposite side. The route continues across the Bolkov Meadows, one of the highlights of the walk, with beautiful views across the surrounding countryside.
A gentle climb brings you to the car park for the Treetop Walk. From here, you can either return the same way or carry on to the spa promenade in Janské Lázně, where you'll find the elegant Art Nouveau colonnade and several places to stop for refreshments.
The Treetop Walk in Janské Lázně is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the Czech Republic.
The Bolkov Meadows are among the most beautiful and botanically valuable places around Černý Důl. From the ridges above the Bolkov Valley, there are magnificent views of the Orlické Mountains and the Ještěd Ridge. The Bolkov Meadows are so highly valued that a local conservation group, Friends of Bolkov, was established to help protect them from development. Thanks to these efforts, the area has preserved its natural character and remains one of the most beautiful spots around Černý Důl. The group's aim was to protect the local landscape and prevent the planned development of holiday accommodation - a goal that was ultimately achieved during the approval process for Rudník's new zoning plan.
At the heart of Janské Lázně stands an elegant Art Nouveau spa colonnade dating from 1904. Designed by the renowned Viennese architect Peter Paul Brang, its graceful steel structure rests on deep foundations. To enable the colonnade to be built, the Janský Stream had to be diverted into an underground channel - and it still flows beneath the building today. Inside the colonnade, you can sample the local mineral water from a spring whose existence has been documented since as early as 1006.
